Food for Thought: You are what you eat?!?

Parents are mortified when infants eat their poo by accident. Would you eat it and feed it to your family on purpose? Now that is really food for thought.

Op Ed: The Bloomberg Minstrel Show & the Mayoral Race Circus

*I tried posting this a week ago. Technology - *sigh

About a week ago our mayor - Bloomers - criticized the NYT for not printing anything on 17yo black youth. As this is true, Bloomers used this as a smoke & mirror trick to the NYT criticism of his Stop & Frisk Policy. Using racism to cover up racism?!? Wow! Big balls. Huge. It seems like we are in the last days and not just in regard to Bloomers. In Godspeed, Bloomers is using his final hour to ban soda, has a sudden urge to increase the recycling program, and get more people hit by cars with his bike program. As we look forward to the end of his reign, is there light at the end of the tunnel?

We have a candidate on federal trial, another who helped Bloomers get a third term, a supermarket chain owner, and the MTA dude to name a few. (Have you been on the subway?) What do we have to do to get a strong POLITICAL candidate to run for office. I guess that ended when Ronald Reagan became president.

I am fearful. History always repeats itself. Rome is going to fall. The question is when and how.

Can you live on $1.50 per day?

What if you only had $1.50 a day to spend on food….

Another Love: CKO

Another Love: CKO

Another Love: CKO

More than a month ago I bought a living social package for three kickboxing classes - including gloves for $25. Just so you know; I am ALL about living social deals. Each deal is its own adventure. You get to try new experiences and food for cheap. I know that I have spent $ on worst things on purpose.

I checked out CKO Kickboxing. Of course I waited to the LAST minute BUT I am happy that I have it a whirl. I loved the class. I wish there was more boxing and less aerobic like instruction. I get it though. The aerobic/yoga elements helps you flow with the boxing movements. I guess I just wanted to punch.

I recommend the class. You sweat ALOT. Something else that I don’t particularly care for. I’m not turning to burn fat and melt pounds. I’m trying to tone my little bit of fat. I also found the aerobics stressful on my knees. I have issues.

BUT if you want to sweat and melt off fat while punching and kicking (and your knees are ok) THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU. An unlimited monthly membership can be a little $79/month. That beats any gym or yoga studio.

I will definitely do some drop in classes!

Food for Thought: NatureBox

I recently tried NatureBox on for size. NatureBox is a healthy snack company that delivers snack monthly directly to you. I came across them on Facebook and decided to try them on for size. I wasn’t always snack conscience. I didn’t think that I would like to snack. But I was always eating other peoples snacks in the office. Hmmm. I digress.

SO. I got a coupon on Facebook and gave it a try.

IT WAS FANTASTIC!! I received via USPS (save our post office) FIVE different bags of snacks. Honey Mesquite Almonds, Dried Granny Smith Apples, Toasted Cheddar Stix, Sunshine Stix, & Roasted Kettle Kernels. I didn’t think that I would like everything. WRONG! Everything was yummy and I am thinking about upgrading my subscription because its all gone.

If you like to snack and want them to be healthy I STRONGLY recommend this to you. Especially, if you already buy mixed nuts. The smallest subscription is $20/month. Not cheap but a small price to pay to insure that you have wholesome goodness. Besides your probably paying $8.99 a month to Netflix for 5yo movies and/or $100 to a cable company for 200 channels of reality tv. Just saying.
